Lawrence Mahan

Dr. Mahan is a co-founder of Madeleine Inc. and with him, Tom finally made the transition of science to clinic and from Australia to the U.S. With more than 20 years of research experience, including 12 years at the National Institute of Health, he has authored 100+ articles and abstracts and holds 4 patents. His broad research expertise includes cellular and molecular biology, pharmacology of small molecules and peptide systems, functional genomics, proteomics, and neuroscience. Larry’s research career began at the University of California, San Diego before moving to Washington, DC and the NIH. Larry is additionally accomplished in the evaluation of novel biomedical technologies and biotechnology startups having served as Director of the Office of Translational Alliances and Coordination at the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, Director of Innovation for Children’s National Medical Center, and assisting Maryland’s business development and venture investment efforts in its biopharmaceutical industry as Senior Strategy Advisor to the Department of Business and Economic Development and the Office of the Governor. Dr. Mahan received his doctorate in Physiology and Pharmacology from the University of California, San Diego.
